Summary

The Torpedo Bag Coyote can safely carry almost anything that a pro would need to carry. Geared toward professionals and designed primarily for capacity, protection, and durability, it demanded that no corners be cut in choosing components. Light weight was also an important consideration, resulting in the choice of a light 2-ply fiberglass for the outer shell. The patented hallmark of this case is that the lid can be removed and traded for one of another size, resulting in a greater range of capacity. The interior pads are also fully configurable. It is Made in the USA, and most of the parts are also Made in the USA.

Protection

• Inside walls are lined with two densities of foam: 1/2 inch open cell foam for compression, 1/4 inch closed cell for impact
• The dividing walls between trumpets goes even further: 5 Layers of foam! 1/4 inch of closed cell, 1/4 inch of open cell, a plastic sheet, and then 1/4 of open cell, and a 1/4 inch of closed cell foam.
• The lining material is a soft velcro brand loop material that does not degrade when shuffling the pads around
• The Basic Set of Pads includes 15 specifically formed pads to support nearly every curve of your trumpets. These are augmented by up to 5 additional pads depending on the final configuration
Specs
11-17 pounds ( kilos), 24 inches long, 11.5 inches wide ( cm), and 7-10 inches tall ( cm). The Coyote Snip will fly overhead every time, the Coyote Snap will fly overhead 99% of the time (it’s the most compact triple you’ll find, even with the computer lid), the Coyote Snarl will fly overhead perhaps 75% of the time. This set is not yet for sale, but will hold a Tpt / Computer / and small Flugel inside the Snip lid. In theory, anyway.

15 Piece Basic Pad Set
This set of pads is included with any complete Coyote case. The exception will be announced later.

Recommendation
If any of this is confusing your brain, we recommend taking two Doc Severinsen’s with an adult beverage and then calling us in the morning. Watching the case demo videos can also help.

Back Pack Straps…from Heaven!

These feature very stiff foam for great support, metal clips, a sternum glide, and a comfortable neoprene padded backside–they can’t be beat! (If you want to wear a wheeled case on your back, you’ll also need the Deluxe Comfort Pad.)

Deluxe Comfort Pad

Because the wheel assembly is mounted on the outside of the case, you’ll need this pad if you add the Wheels and Pull Handle to your Coyote, AND intend to wear it on your back. A picture will be posted soon.

Nylon Coyote Music Pouch

This will fit a few books, but is only as wide as the case. Note that there is room inside the Snap and Snarl lids for books, depending on how they are configured.

Nylon Coyote Mute Bag
This bag will hold 4-6 mutes on the end of the case, and can be easily removed.

Wheels and Pull Handle These feature sturdy steel bars on the extendable pull handle, and ball bearing wheels underneath, for when you need a little break. Note that they add roughly the weight of one trumpet to the case, 1inch in height, and 2 inches in length (although if ti were measured, most people wouldn’t factor in the “feet” as part of the length). These MUST be ordered at the same time as your Coyote Box–it is not something that can be added by the user to an existing case. And because the wheel assembly is mounted on the outside of the case, you’ll need the Deluxe Comfort Pad if you intend to wear it on your back.

Recommendation
The Back Pack straps are very helpful, as well as the small bags. Often it seem that using the back pack straps without wheels will lighten the load just right, without the extra permanent size that come with the wheels. But if you have used wheeled cases in the past, and you know this is right for you, they sure do lighten the load — three trumpets and a computer can add up!

2) Buy the new lid you want. Be sure to also purchase pads as needed.

3) Remove your lid, all your pads and other options (Mute Bag, Strap, etc.). Send ONLY the empty bottom half–the Coyote Box. Or if you”re buying a box to complete a spare lid, send the lid in alone.

4) Make sure your return address, phone number, & email are in the business card holder. For a lid, safety pin your return address to the lid. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DO!!! We will recycle your shipping container, and a loose note might get lost.

5) Include a copy of your lid receipt inside the Coyote.

6) Do NOT use packing peanuts.

7) We find that FedEx and UPS do a better job than the USPS. These lids DO NOT come with a Coyote Box. It is NOT a complete case.

For most lids, you MUST ALSO CHOOSE A SET OF PADS to go with your additional lid HERE.

Honcho Conchos for our Loredo Leather Straps

• Our Loredo Leather Straps are beautiful by themselves, but for the ultimate upgrade, choose a set of Honcho Conchos. These insert into the strap adjustment holes with a screw on the back side, and are easily moved to a different hole.

Leather Straps

• Our Loredo cases include a naked 2″ strap, but here you can add 2 pockets for valve oil and a mouthpiece, a comfortable and removable pad, or buy a solo strap (sometimes you just need to upgrade a competitor’s case). You can also purchase our nylon straps on this page. Note: All of our cases INCLUDE a strap. This page is for upgrades or for when you just want a strap for another purpose.
